Based on an award-winning screenplay, the Decomposer graphic novel follows George, a realtor whose mind and body have been taken over by an earthborne parasite with a chilling purpose: to rid the Earth of humankind.

From screenplay to graphic novel

At its heart, Decomposer asks "what would you see if you looked at humanity through completely alien eyes?" Through the perspective of an outsider, it explores what defines us when everything familiar is stripped away. What makes you human when your body isn't your own? What does connection mean in a world that often feels like it's falling apart? What would you see if you were an outsider experiencing this world for the first time?

We've always found horror works best when it taps into something personal and unsettles you -- not just through what you see, but also with what it makes you think about after you've closed the book. Decomposer shows you the world through different eyes and lets you sit with that discomfort. It puts us in the body of an outsider and shows humanity's disregard for the place we call home. It holds up a mirror, and sometimes what we see isn't pretty. Maybe that's what horror does best.

Adapting the screenplay into a graphic novel allows us to preserve the surreal, disturbing, and human moments that make Decomposer special. Through the art of incredible illustrator Ollie Jones, we can explore the full breadth of this world. His eerie, emotional artwork brings this deeply unsettling story to life with the kind of world-building and visual storytelling that is better than we could even dream about.

Set against the backdrop of a decaying Appalachia, Decomposer is an eco-horror graphic novel that blends body horror, psychological drama, and apocalyptic dread.

We collaborated with our friends at Gloom Factory to create a fully integrated soundtrack designed to be experienced with the book, page by page.

Each of the 12 tracks is composed for a specific section of the journey, creating an immersive soundscape that deepens the emotional impact of every moment. The digital edition has the music built right in, so you can experience the story fully - a seamless fusion of visual storytelling and sound.
